Pseudotropheus SaulosiKept by: Jeff |
This small fish from Lake Malawi is moderately mild mannnered in comparison to other mbuna. Its main diet is algae that is grazed from the rocks. Males are blue with black vertical strips and females are a bright goldenrod color. Because of the striking dimorphism and its relatively mild aggression this fish is sought after by hobbyists. |

Julidochromis MarlieriKept by: Jeff |
This fish is one of the rock dwelling species of Lake Tanganyika. It eats insects and crustaceans from the algae covered rocks. This is one of the larger Julidochromis species, reaching up to 5" in length. They form a pair bond that can last for life. A pair can be kept in a tank as small as 20 gallons or would be a fine addition to a Tanganyikan community aquarium. |
